A total of 32 naval vessels in Chittagong, Khulna, and Mongla naval areas are ready to provide emergency relief and medical assistance to the coastal areas during in case of any emergencies

Bangladesh Navy has prepared for post-disaster response, including emergency rescue, relief and medical assistance as cyclone Fani could hit Bangladesh after Friday night.

A total of 32 naval vessels in Chittagong, Khulna, and Mongla naval areas are ready to provide emergency relief and medical assistance to the coastal areas during in case of any emergencies, said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

Furthermore, a naval contingent has been prepared for deployment in the coastal areas of Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barishal, and Pirojpur, it added.

It also said four naval vessels with a three-day emergency dry-food stock for 2,000 families were ready to cope with effects of the cyclone, while special medical teams have been formed to provide medical assistance during and after the storm.
