Police have arrested 23 people; 11 people have given confessional statements

Five accused in the murder case of madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi have been placed on different terms of remand.

Among the accused, Shahadat Hossain Shamim and Javed Hossain were put on a two-day remand while and Iftekhar Uddin Rana, Imran Hossain Mamun and Mohi Uddin Shakil on a five-day remand on Thursday.

Feni Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain passed the order after PBI Inspector Shah Alam, also investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a seven-day remand for each.

Till now, police have arrested 23 people; 11 people have given their confessional statements to the court. Six other suspects were put on police remand.

Nusrat, a student of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa, died of her burn injuries on April 10, at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
