Two pirates killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’

A locally-made gun (LG), two magazines and 10 bullet casings were also recovered from the scene

Two pirates have been killed in a reported gunfight between two gangs of bandits, over establishing dominance in the Cox’s Bazar region.

The incident took place in Lemsikhali union under Kutubdia upazila around 4am on Friday. The deceased could not be identified as of yet.


A locally-made gun (LG), two magazines and 10 bullet casings were also recovered from the scene.

Kutubdia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Didarul Ferdous, confirming the matter, said: “The bandits fled the scene after the police arrived upon information. We recovered two bodies from the scene and sent them to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.”
