Transport workers alleged that some people identifying themselves as DB police beat Jalal to death
A case has been filed after a bus driver was killed allegedly by the Detective Branch (DB) of police in Chittagong.
Jalal Uddin, 48, a driver of Shyamoli Paribahan bus, was beaten to death at the Shikalbaha Bridge area around 11:30pm on Monday.
Karnaphuli police station OC Alamgir Mahmud said: “Jewel Hossain, the deceased’s younger brother lodged the case with the Karnaphuli police station accusing 10 individuals on Wednesday.”

Azim Uddin, supervisor of the Shyamoli Paribahan bus said: "We were on our way to Chittagong from Cox's Bazar on Monday, when seven people identifying themselves as DB men halted the bus and began searching inside. At one stage, they handcuffed the bus driver and began to beat him indiscriminately.”
