Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, Langadu police station OC Ranjan Kumar said: “After a case was filed by the woman’s father on Saturday, we arrested the woman’s in-laws for their aid in the rape.

“We are still trying to arrest Osman Prakash, the prime accused in the case.”

According to the case description, the woman had been locked into a room in her in-laws’  house, where Osman Prakash, a local kabiraj (village quack) were invited by the in-laws.

Osman allegedlypromised to locate the woman’s missing husband, and with the help of the accused, entered the locked room and raped her.
