The principal, his wife, and the madrasa hostel superintendent tried to conceal the rape incident
Police arrested two people in a case filed over raping an 11-year-old madrasa girl in Rampal upazila in Bagerhat.
Oliur Rahman, principal of Shorafpur Keramotia Fazil Madrasa and the rape suspect Ferdous Sheikh, 19, shop owner were detained from the upazila’s Foyla area on Friday.
Rampal police station OC Lutfar Rahman said: “Following the incident, the girl's uncle filed a case against four- Ferdous, the principal, his wife, and the hostel superintendent on Friday afternoon.”
The girl was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital on Saturday for medical tests, he added.
According to the case statement, a second-grader madrasa student from Naogaon district was a resident at the dormitory of Shorafpur Keramotia Fazil Madrasa. On the night of April 11, Ferdous lured the victim into his shop near the hostel and raped her.
Afterwards, the principal, his wife, and the madrasa hostel superintendent tried to conceal the rape incident.
