Former PCJSS leader shot in Bandarban

Locals suspect the shooting was due to a factional feud within the PCJSS

A former leader of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) has been shot and wounded in Bandarban. 

The incident occurred in Taingkhali area under Rajbila union in Bandarban sadar upazila around 10pm on Sunday. 

The victim was identified as Aung Kyo Ching Marma, 52, former organizing secretary of PCJSS (Santu Larma) of Rajbila union unit. 

His son, Babul Marma, is an organizing secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League in the same union. 

According to the police, unidentified attackers shot the PCJSS leader in the head at his home. He was admitted to Badarban Sadar Hospital around 1:30am and then transferred to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH). 

Locals said the shooting was due to a factional feud within the PCJSS.

Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bandarban sadar police station, said: "We are looking into the attack."
