Police arrested a maulana for his alleged derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) during a sermon at a religious gathering in Kishoreganj’s Katiadi upazila on Sunday.
The arrestee, Maulana Habibur Rahman Rizvi, 50, son of Robiullah of Goatola village in the upazila, was caught by locals from Genjipatti on Sunday afternoon, reports UNB.

He was handed over to police after a video of his speech vilifying the Prophet went viral on Facebook.
Officer-in-charge of Katiadi model police station Shafiqul Islam confirmed the arrest.
