Shab-e-Barat on April 21

Shab-e-Barat is observed on the 15th night of Shaban month on the lunar Islamic calendar

Holy Shab-e-Barat, one of the major religious events for Muslims and the night of fortune and forgiveness, will be observed in the country on April 21 as the Shaban moon was not sighted in Bangladesh sky on Saturday.

The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting held at the Islamic Foundation office at Baitul Mukarram in the evening with State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in the chair, reports UNB.

Shab-e-Barat is observed on the 15th night of Shaban month on the lunar Islamic calendar.

According to the Muslim belief, Shab-e-Barat is the night when Allah arranges the affairs of the following year. On Shab-e-Barat, Allah writes the destinies of all his creations for the coming year by taking into account their past deeds.

On this night, Muslim devotees will offer special prayers, recite from the Holy Quran, hold milad, zikr and other religious
