World Vision Bangladesh organized and celebrated the birthdays of 3,500 under privileged children in the Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj.
The Christian humanitarian organization, dedicated to the wellbeing of vulnerable children organized the event at the district council auditorium on Wednesday.
This was a part of the world vision's advanced program titled "I can prevent child abuse."
The deprived children enjoyed the day with cake, good food and presents. Arpita Roy, one of the children present said she was delighted to be there.
"The auditorium was beautifully decorated and we were treated nicely. We never get to celebrate our birthdays. Taking part today meant a lot. I would like to thank World Vision for this," she added.
District Council member Nazrul Islam inaugurated the ceremony as chief guest.
While speaking at the occasion, he said: "These children living under poverty cannot enjoy their birthdays. So, they were happy to take part and the ceremony became animated with their enthusiasm."
World Vision Kotalipara Advanced Project (AP) Manager Sylvia Daisy chaired the ceremony.
While speaking to the children, she said: "You are our future, under your leadership the country will advance towards equality. This is a small arrangement for you motivation. We hope that one day you will grow up to develop the country with your knowledge and fine intellect."
