A wall from the upper floors of a three-storey building has collapsed on the streets amid heavy storm in Khulna.
The incident occurred on the Majid Sarani area in Khulna city Friday evening.
No casualties were reported since there were no people on the streets at the time. However, it caused a power outage in the area as electricity lines were torn when the wall crumbled.
West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd Sub Assistant Engineer Shahinur Islam said part of South Wall Bank building wall or 200 to 300 bricks kept in one of the upper floors of the building fell down on the street.
As a result of the collapse, the electricity lines were torn, resulting into power outage in the area for the night.
Sonadanga police station Officer-in-Charge Momtajul Haque confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, verifying that there were no casualties.
Khulna Meteorological Office in-charge Md Amirul Azad said: "The maximum wind speed was 42km/hr after 6pm in the evening, with 16mm rainfall recorded."
