The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has detained a Bangladeshi national on allegations of illegally entering India in the Jashpur border area of Feni.
BSF detained the man, Mizanur Rahman, 40, hailing from Jashpur colony under Chhagalnaiya municipality, on Monday evening.
Feni 4 Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) Additional Director, Md Khaza Main Uddin Miah, confirmed and said: “The BSF has detained six people, including Mizanur Rahman and another Indian national trying to enter India on Monday evening.”
A BGB-BSF company commander level flag meeting was held in this regard on Tuesday.
BSF has declined to release the detained into BGB custody to be tried under Bangladesh law and said they would try all trespassers under Indian law.
According to BGB sources, Mizanur Rahman is charged in different cases, including drug abuse, at Chhagalnaiya police station.
BSF gave the names of the six detained to BGB.
Later, BGB filed a written complaint with Chhagalnaiya police station.
