A man and his wife reportedly committed suicide in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj early Wednesday, out of sheer poverty.
The deceased were identified as Nazmul, 22, and his wife Minu Khatun, 20, at Uttor Chandangati village.
Locals said Nazmul was a handloom worker and it was very hard for him to manage a 4-member family on his meager income.
The couple always got into altercations over the issue, they also said.
Belkuchi police station Officer-in-Charge, Anwarul Islam, said the couple on Tuesday night, got into an altercation following a family feud over their financial crisis.
At one stage, Nazmul went out of his house.
Minu committed suicide taking poison sometime in the night.
Nazmul, however, committed suicide upon returning home and finding the dead body of Minu.
Upon being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent them to 250-Bed Sirajganj Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital morgue
