Police have arrested six men for the gang-rape of two women in the vlllage of Putkhali on Sunday.
According to Benapole police station Sub-Inspector Abdul Latif, two women came to visit relatives in Putkhali on Sunday morning. Soon after, six armed men abducted them to a nearby mango grove and took turns raping them.
Locals contacted the police who rescued the two women and arrested the rapists.
The rapists have been identified as Morshed, 30, Sohel Mia, 25, Plabon Biswas, 24, Abdullah, 22, Ariful Islam, 24, and Shimul Hossain, 25. All are residents of Putkhali.
A case has been filed in this regard.
