Narayanganj 4 MP, Shamim Osman, urged public servants and people at different levels to take a stand against drugs, eve teasing, bribery, and criminal activities.
He made the speech while presiding over a meeting near the Awami League office at No. 2 Rail gate area on Bangabandhu Road in the city on Saturday afternoon under the banner of Swadhinata Divas Udjapan Committee.
"No kind of compromise will be made in punishing anyone of the party (Awami League) who commits a crime, " he said.
He urged party men, administration, and journalists to raise awareness among people about criminal activities.
Among others, district unit Awami League President Abdul Hye, its General Secretary, Abu Hasnat Shahid Badal, the city unit General Secretary, Advocate Khokan Saha, Joint Secretary Shah Nizam, and Vice President Chandan Sheel spoke at the gathering.
Thousands of people of Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League attended the program.
