Police have recovered three bodies, including one of a schoolboy, in Savar.
An eighth-grader was stabbed to death by his friends in Chapain area on Friday night. Police arrested two of his friends in Rajfulbaria area, in connection with the incident, on Saturday, confirmed Savar Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Sayed.
The deceased was a student of Student School of Bangladesh, in Shahibag, under Savar municipality.
According to police and the victim's family, the boy was returning home with two friends from an event in C&B area on Friday night. The three got into an argument over a miscellaneous issue, and at one point Mithu and Pranto stabbed the boy and fled.
Later, the on-duty doctors declared the boy dead after he was rescued and admitted to Enam Medical College and Hospital.
Police arrived and sent his body to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, and arrested Mithu and Pranto from Rajfulbaria on Saturday, the OC said.
Mithu hails from Sirajganj, while Pranto is a ninth-grade student of New Model School in Shahibag.
A case has been lodged with Savar Model police station over the murder.
Meanwhile, two bodies have been recovered from separate places in Rajfulbaria in Savar—between Friday night and Saturday morning—the OC Sayed said.
Police recovered 22-year-old garments worker Mahbuba Akter's hanging body from her residence, upon being informed by neighbours, on Friday night.
On Friday afternoon, a man went missing after plunging into Bangshi River, in Raj, while crossing the river on a trawler. Later, police recovered his body from Bank Town area. The man's identity has yet to be disclosed.
Both of the bodies have been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said. A case has also been lodged.
