Even parents whose children were safe grew concerned
When three school children went missing on a single day in Netrakona city, people began to panic over the threat of a kidnapping ring.
Even parents whose children were safe grew concerned.
But late Wednesday night, police found the three children, and discovered that they had run away from home because of excessive pressure of studies and parents berating them.
According to the police, Rifat and Nafi – two fifth grader friends from different schools – felt fed up with the pressure of studying at school and private tuitions and ran away from home.
The third child was Samiul, a fourth grader from a Netrakona madrasa.
Netrakona Superintendent of Polic,e Ashraful Alam, said there was nothing to panic about.
He also recommended that parents should be more understanding and not pressure children too much, as in this case, which could have adverse effects on their mental growth.
