3 units of Rajbari Fire Service brought the fire under control after an hour
A fire has broken out at the Boro Bazar market in Rajbari.
The fire originated from a cosmetic shop at 6am on Friday.
A total of five shops were completely gutted in the fire, and traders claimed Tk20 lakh worth of damage had been caused.
Three units of Rajbari Fire Service and Civil Defence brought the fire under control after one hour of trying.
One of the shop owners, Golam Mostofa, said: “I got the news of the fire at 7am. When I went to my shop, everything had been burnt to ashes. A total Tk6 lakh in damage was caused by the fire. I am very worried about the bank loan I took for it.”
Rajbari Fire Service and Civil Defence Deputy Director Shawkat Ali Joarder and Team Leader Abdul Halim said the market had no windows and doors on three of its sides. They suspect a short-circuit led to the blaze.
