3 women die after taking liquor in Munshiganj

Another man is also admitted at DMCH in a critical state

Three women, including two siblings, died after taking excessive liquor in Munshiganj.

The incident took place at Hosendi in Gajaria upazila on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Chameli, wife of Mantu, her sister Chaina, and their aunt Josna, of Sundarganj  upazila in Gaibandha.

Gajaria police station OC Harun Ur Rashid confirmed the mews.

He said: “Chameli and her husband Mantu worked at 'Khan Shipyard' as cleaners and lived at the shipyard.

On Friday night, Chameli, Mantu, Chaina, and Josna, drank liquor at their house.

Later, Chameli, Chaina, and Josna, fell sick after taking excessive liquor. They were taken to Gajaria Health Complex around 12pm on Friday.

The doctors shifted them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where they died in the morning.

“However, the condition of Mantu is stated to be critical.”
