349 police officers to get medals in 4 categories

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the medals during Police Week in February

A total of 345 members of the Bangladesh police will receive awards for their various outstanding contributions this year.

Police Section 2 of the Public Security Division under the Home Ministry has already issued a gazette notification signed by its Deputy Secretary Farzana Jesmin in this regard, reports the UNB.

According to the notification, 40 police personnel will get the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and 62 will get the President's Police Medal (PPM) in recognition of their brave and heroic work, while 104 police personnel will get the Bangladesh Police Medal – Service (BPM-Seba) and 143 policemen will get the President's Police Medal – Service (PPM-Seba) for solving important cases, crime control, skill, devotedness, integrity and commendable contributions through disciplinary behaviour.

On February 4, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as part of Police Week, will formally hand over the medals to the recipients at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Parade Ground in Dhaka.
