Sub-Inspector Saidul Islam with the Rapid Action Battatlion (RAB) filed another case under the Drug Control Act 2018. The cases were filed with the Kotwali police station, where the two had been handed to after their arrest.
RAB arrested the two Saturday night from Dariapara in Sylhet and rescued two girls aged 12 and 13.
Rokon was a member of the Armed Police Battalion.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that Rokon and Rima lived together and brought in young children under the pretense of hiring housemaids. They would later force the children into prostitution.
A magistrate obtained the statement of one of the rescued children and issued instructions to take both children into safe custody of the Deparment of Social Services.
