ACC investigating 23 allegedly corrupt health officials

The ACC intelligence unit has been conducting the investigation now

Twenty-three health department officials, who have reportedly amassed illegal wealth, are being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC has recommended departmental action against them and urged the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to transfer the officials for the sake of unhindered investigation, reports UNB.

These officials created a strong syndicate working at the same station for a long time, an ACC letter sent to DGHS reads, adding that these officials have amassed wealth by misusing their power.

ACC's intelligence unit is conducting the investigation at the moment.

The officials named by the ACC are Mir Raihan Ali, Md Faruk Hossain, Md Ashraful Islam, Md Sajedul Karim, Md Toybur Rahman, Md Saiful Islam, Md Faizur Rahman of the DGHS Dhaka office; Md Mahfuzur Rahman and Md Azmal Khan of the Chittagong office; Md Mostafizur Rahman and Md Abdul Kuddus of the Mymensingh office; Md Nurul Haque, Md Gosh Ahmed, Md Aman Ahmed, Md Nesar Ahmed Chowdhury of the Sylhet office; Md Farid Hossain, Md Masum, Md Anwar Hossain of the Khulna office; Md Rahat Khan and Md Jewel of the Barisal office; Md Azizur Rahman, Md Saiful Islam and Md Jahangir Alam of the Rangpur office.
