Director (Admin and Training) of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Md Elias Bhuiya, at a workshop on Monday, said that after the armed forces and police, journalism is the third riskiest occupation in Bangladesh.
Speaking as the chief guest of a two-day workshop on child rights for journalists in the district, he also said that journalism is the fourth estate of a country, which also acts as the conscience of society.
“Journalists have to work despite various limitations, as such workshops like these will help them to be more efficient,” he added.
The workshop was inaugurated by SM Ferdous, deputy commissioner of the district, while Begum Rafiza Rahman, PIB director and senior trainer, Rahat Minhaz, assistant professor of journalism at Jagannath University and others, were also present on the occasion.
