A five member investigation committee has been setup to probe the matter
At least one person died and six others were injured when a roof of an under construction building of Kushtia Medical College collapsed, at the Mollah Teghiya Housing area at 4pm on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as labourer Bazlur Rahman, son of Bhadu Pramanik of Kumarkhali’s Choraikal area.
Confirming the matter, Kushtia Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Aslam Hossain, said: “We have already admitted four of the critically injured at the Kushtia General Hospital. The other two with minor injuries were treated and released from the hospital later.”
“A five-member investigation committee has been setup to find out whether the construction company was at fault,” the DC said.
An additional district magistrate will lead the investigation committee which will include additional superintendent of police, representative from the Fire Service and executive engineers from LGED and Road and Highways.
The DC further said: “We will take legal measures based on the investigation report from the committee.”
