They were allegedly kidnapping a 14-year old schoolboy
Police has arrested two suspected fake DB police members, at Soling Bazar in Tangail.
On Thursday, the supposed fake DB men were beaten-up by frustrated locals; who rescued a school student who was allegedly being kidnapped by the fraudulent DB policemen. Later, the locals handed over the fake DB men to the police.
Police recovered a pistol from the site. The incident occurred on Thursday night at the Sling Bazar area of Garo Bazar.
According to the locals, Tanjil, 14—a ninth grader and son of Rafiqul Islam of Fulbaria Kosmail village of the neighboring district in Mymensingh—was standing beside a road in Kusmail area, on Thursday evening, with his motorcycle.
The suspected fake DB men, in a private car, suddenly pulled over near Tanjil and told him that there was a case against him. He was forced inside the car as the suspected fake DB men started to travel to Soling Bazar.
Locals then intervened and rescued the boy; as two others of the same suspected fake DB police group fled the scene while firing blank rounds.
The agitated crowd set fire to the private car used by the alleged kidnappers.
