Two killed over land dispute in Nasirnagar

The incident took place around 3pm on Monday at Rampura village in Goalghar union council of the upazila.

Two people have been reportedly killed and five others were injured in a fierce clash between two group of villagers over a land dispute in Nasirnagar upazila of the district.

The deceased were identified as Borzu Mian, 65, and Rafiza Begum, 35.

The incident took place around 3pm on Monday at Rampura village in Goalghar union council of the upazila.

Locals said there had been a longstanding enmity between one Meraz Mian and Advocate Zahangir in the village over a piece of land.

On Monday, situation turned worrisome after people loyal to both groups locked in a clash with locally-made weapons, leaving Borzu and Rafiza, both supporters of Meraz, dead on the spot, confirms Goalghar union council Chairman Azharul Haque.

Brahmanbaria Additional Superintendent of Police Alamgir Hossain said a team of police had been sent to the spot.
