However the former UP chairman was not at home
Miscreants have hurled two crude bombs and fired blank rounds at the house of Gangni upazila unit BNP General Secretary Asaduzzaman Bablu.
The incident took place at Cougaccha area of Gangni upazila on Wednesday.
Tozbira Zaman, wife of the BNP leader, said a group of miscreants hurled two bombs targeting their house around 9pm.
This attack has created panic amongst the locals however none were injured during the incident.
According to eyewitnesses locals entered the house of the BNP leader right after the bomb and found several glass marbles on the floor.
However, Asaduzzaman Bablu, also the former UP chairman, was out of home for electioneering, said his wife Tozbira.
Gangni police station Officer-in-Charge of Harendra Nath Sarkar said: “We have visited the spot of the attack. We are investigative the matter. Necessary steps will be taken upon further investigation.”
