'Two RAB members were also injured in the gunfight'
Two suspected criminals were killed in a gunfight with members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Shipahipara in the Sadar upazila of Munshiganj on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Khasru Miah alias Lengra Khasru, 37, and Sumon alias Kana Sumon, 35, ofthe Ballalbari village of the Sadar upazila.
Based on a tip-off, a RAB team conducted a narcotics drive in Shipahipara. Sensing the presence of the elite force, the “criminals” opened fire at them, forcing the RAB members to fire back in self-defence triggering a gunfight, said Enayet Hossain police superintendent of RAB 11.

Two RAB members were also injured in the gunfight, he said.
