It will be contingent on eligibility
Bangladeshi citizens – who are eligible and have the necessary documents – can apply for a port visa, also known as a visa on arrival, at selected Chinese ports.
Bangladesh’s Chinese Embassy Political Counselor Chen Wei confirmed the matter on Thursday.
He said: “The duration of the stay on a ‘port visa’ is no more than 30 days.”
According to the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China, a Chinese port visa system does not impose restrictions on specific countries, reports UNB.
However it has certain requirements depending on entry purposes.
The law stipulates that foreigners who need to enter China urgently – for humanitarian reasons, urgent business, or rush repair work – or who want to visit China as tourists through Chinese travel agencies, may apply for an on-arrival visa.
