Police suspect that Raja was killed by his rivals to establish their authority in the area
A member of Parbatiya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS-MN Larma) has been shot dead by miscreants at Baradam Bandartala under Longdu upazila of Rangamati district.
The deceased is Bhaijja Gola Chakma alias Raja, an activist of the PCJSS-MN Larma reformist group—and son of Dhirendra Chakma of Baradam area.
Langdu police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ranjan Kumar Samanta said a group of miscreants swooped on the house of Shantimoy Chakma and opened fire on Raja while he was sleeping, early on Friday, leaving him dead on the spot.
He said police suspect that Raja was killed by his rivals to establish theirauthority in the area, reports UNB.
