A man has been killed and 20 others have been injured in a clash between two Awami League groups in Magura district.
The incident took place in Amuria village of Sadar upazila Saturday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased is Alam Sheikh, 35, son of Tujam Sheikh of the village.
Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sirajul Islam said the clash was the result of a long standing dispute between local Awami League leaders Sohel Mollah and Tipu Sheikh.
Supporters of the two leaders attacked each other with jagged weapons, sparking a clash around 7am on Saturday, which left Alam dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
Around 10 injured were taken to Magura Sadar Hospital.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
A case has been filed in regard to the incident.
