The senior educator made the statement while inspecting the various admission centres of the university
Rajshahi University (RU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan has stated that as the quota has been removed from government jobs, it will also be eliminated from the institution’s admission test.
The senior educator made the statement while inspecting the various admission centres of the university.
He also said: “The government abolished the quota system after a lot of consideration, and if it remains in place, we will act accordingly and remove the system from our admission process.”
However, quotas for physically or mentally challenged people, sportspersons, and the children of current employees of the university may stay, Abdus said.
The vice-chancellor also said: “We were fearing that the admission test papers would be leaked, with rumours going around about a question paper leak gang active in the area, but thanks to the alertness of the university authorities, nothing like that happened. Students have sat for their exams without incident.”
University pro-vice-chancellors Prof Ananda Kumar Saha and Prof Choudhury M Zakaria, Proctor Prof Lutfur Rahman, and other administrative figures of the university were also present when the statement was made
