More than 20 were critically injured in the incident

A young man named Abdul Hakim, 28, was killed in a clash over a land dispute between two groups in Lakhai, Habiganj. The deceased is the son of Wahid Mia, of Murakori village in Lakhai upazila, and belonged to the Abdul Kaiyum group.

On Monday morning, members from both the sides fought using local weapons.

More than 20 were injured in the incident. Later they were taken to Habiganj and Lakhai upazila Health Complex.

Police said there was a longstanding dispute over a piece of land, between Abdul Kaiyum and Towhid Mia of the same village.

Officer-in-Charge of Lakhai police station Emran Hossain, confirmed the incident and informed that after receiving the news of the clash, police brought the situation under control. 

Additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
