Nancy told several media outlets that whatever happened between her brother and his wife was their personal matter
Popular singer Nazmun Munira Nancy and her husband have secured bail in a case of Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, filed by Samiun Nahar Shanu, wife of her younger brother Shahriar Aman Sunny on September 6.
Netrakona Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court led by Judge Ali Masud granted the bail on Tuesday when Nancy and her husband Nazimuzzaman Zayed’s lawyer filed a bail petition with the court.
The case was filed against the popular singer, her husband and her younger brother Shahriar Aman Sunny.
Netrokona Sadar police station OC Mohammad Borhan Uddin Khan said Shanu filed the case accusing her husband Sunny of attempting to murder her demanding for dowry.
Police arrested Sunny from his home in Satpai, in the Netrakona Sadar upazila the next day.
Nancy and her husband Najimuzzan Zayed were accused of provocation in the same case, the OC added.
Nancy told several media outlets that whatever happened between her brother and his wife was their personal matter, and she did not understand how she and her husband were connected to all this as they do not even live under the same roof.
Nancy also accused Shanu of framing her husband for personal gains and property, saying her brother did not commit such a heinous act.
The singer said Shanu might have filed the false case in retaliation as her brother filed for divorce.
