Third suspect detained in Pabna for journalist Nodi’s murder

She was killed while entering her home on August 28

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained the third suspect of a case filed over the murder of journalist Subarna Akter Nodi, in Pabna.

The suspect, Shamsuzzaman Milon, 40, was detained on Saturday night, confirmed RAB 12 Pabna Camp Company Commander Lt Commander Md Ruhul Amin.

Milon hails from the Gopalpur area of Pabna, and the victim’s relatives claim that he was present during Nodi’s gruesome assault.

Criminals hacked Nodi, 30, the Pabna correspondent of Ananda TV, to death while she was entering her home, in Pabna town, around 10pm on August 28.She died at Pabna Medical College Hospital the same night.

The victim's mother filed a murder case with Pabna police station on August 29, accusing Nodi’s ex-husband, Rajib Hossain, Rajib's father, Abul Hossain, and approximately five others.

The case was handed over to the Detective Branch (DB) of police.

Police arrested Abul Hossain, on August 30, and produced him before the Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court, said Md Monirul Islam, officer in charge (OC) of Pabna DB. 

Nodi’s ex-husband is still in hiding.
