Elderly man, granddaughter found dead in Cox’s Bazar

They went missing on Wednesday

An elderly man and his granddaughter, who went missing on Wednesday, have been found dead in a fish enclosure along the Naf River in Teknaf upazila.

The deceased were identified as Yusuf Ali, 75, and his granddaughter Rozina Akter, 10, reports UNB.

Locals informed police after spotting their bodies at Hoaikhan Unsiprang Jhimongkhali along the river, said Teknaf upazila nirbahi Officer Pronoy Chakma.

Later, a special team of police from Huaikang police camp recovered the bodies with the help of Border Guard Bangladesh around 8:30 am.

The UNO said: “Yusuf and Rozina had been missing since they went to the area with their cattle.”

The cause of their deaths is still unclear.
