RAB says bomb-making materials, weapons and bullets have been seized during the raid
Five suspected members of militant group Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), including one of its senior leaders, have been arrested in Rajshahi, RAB says.
The arrestees have been identified by law enforcers as Aminul Islam, 32, Mosharraf Hossain Mursalin, 22, Ismail Hossain, 32, Rafiqul Islam (40) and Abdul Matin (40).
RAB said Aminul is a top JMB leader.
The elite force arrested them during a raid on a river island between Godagari and Chapainawabganj Kodalakati on Thursday night.
Raw materials used to make crude bombs, weapons, bullets, Jihadi books and leaflets during the raid, RAB said.
RAB 5 Deputy Commander Major Ashraful Islam said the JMB members were planning to carry out acts of sabotage in the area.
“We are taking legal actions against them,” he added.
