Nodi’s mother says her daughter had named her ex-husband as one of the attackers before she died
The family of murdered Pabna journalist, Subarna Akter Nodi, suspects her former husband Rajib Hossain, and father-in-law Abul Hossain, are behind the killing.
Nodi, the Pabna correspondent of Anondo TV, was suing Rajib in a dowry case. Her elder sister Champa Begum was scheduled to testify before the court in the case on Tuesday morning.
Champa said Rajib and his associates had verbally abused her on the court premises before the hearing.
Nodi was attacked by unidentified assailants at the entrance of her house that night, after she returned from work. Her mother took her to Pabna General Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
“On the way to the hospital, my daughter told me the names of her assailants. She said Rajib, his associate Milon, and several others attacked her,” Morjina Begum said.

Rajib’s father, Abul, owns Shimla Diagnostic and Hospital. An employee of the hospital said police had detained Abul on Tuesday night.
