College student drowns in Jaflong

He along with four friends went to Jaflong during Eid vacation

A college student has drowned in the Piyain River of Jaflong in Sylhet. 

Rifat Ahmed, 19, a 2nd year student of Dhaka City College, went missing around 1pm yesterday while bathing in the river. 

Police recovered the body after an hour, Goainghat police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) Hillol Roy said. 

He said Rifat along with four friends went to Jaflong during Eid vacation. The four others managed to swim ashore. 

The body was sent to Osmani Medical College morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
