The clash left 10 people injured on Thursday night
Leaders and activisits of ruling party Awami League, and BNP, clashed at the Nandigram buss stand in Bogra.
The incident occurred on Thursday night. At least 10 people from both parties were injured.
Chhatra League leader Abu Hurairah Akash lodged a case against 18 district BNP members, including the anticipated candidate for Bogra-4’s seat Al-hajj Mosharraf Hossain.
Police have arrested the Joint General Secretary of BNP municipality, Anwar Hossain.
According to the case statement, around 9pm on Thursday, Abu Hurairah Akash and several other Chhatra League activists were sitting near the Nandigram buss stand. At that time, district BNP member Mosharraf Hossain arrived, with several of his party members, and hurled abuses at Akash.
Under his direction, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal cadres attacked Akash and those accompanying him, injuring Akash and five to six others.
Municipality Chhatra League has carried out protests and rallies, demanding the immediate arrest of BNP and its affiliated party members, on Friday.
Speaking on this topic, Mosharraf said: "I, alongside other BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal members, were meeting people to exchange Eid greetings. When I was returning to my car, a gang of ruling party activists unexpectedly attacked us, injuring me and several others."
He said regarding this, Chhatra League filed false cases against him and 17 others.
Inspector (investigation) of Nandigram police station, Anisur Rahman, said that Chhatra League's case was filed, and a BNP leader named in the case was arrested.
