The event took place at the border between Hili and Joypurhat
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and India’s Border Security Force (BSF) have exchanged greetings, flowers, and sweets on the holy occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
BGB Joypurhat 20 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Md Anisul Haque and BSF’s Patiram 199 Battalion Commander BS Negi represented their respective forces and countries at the exchange, which happened at the border between Hili and Jaipurhat.
A number of other officers were also present at the event.
Rashed Md Anisul Haque told the Bangla Tribune: “We exchange sweets, flowers, and greetings on special occasions such as: Eid, Puja, Diwali, and other national and religious celebrations—in order to maintain a good relationship between the two forces. We also wish the people of both countries a happy Eid.”
BS Negi echoed the sentiment.
