The bridge authorities collected around Tk2.30 crore in toll revenue during this period
Bangabandhu Bridge authorities have set a new vehicle transportation record in the last 24 hours—as holidaymakers go to their home districts to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha.
As many as 32,432 vehicles plied the bridge from 6am Monday to 6am Tuesday, Bangabandhu Bridge (East) police station’s OC Mosharraf Hossain said.
The bridge authorities collected around Tk2.30 crore in toll revenue during this period.
During Eid-ul-Fitr, 30,507 vehicles crossed the bridge in 24 hours.
Opened in 1998, the 4.63 km bridge connects the eastern and western parts of Bangladesh.
Currently, the Commuter System Network collects tolls on behalf of the bridge authorities.
