The CCC authorities said they selected the slaughter points based on their potential for ease of clean upduring Eid.
Shaibal Das Suman, president of the CCC's waste management committee, said: “Around 5,000 cleaners will be working to clean up garbage by 4pm on the day of Eid.
“We have set a target to clean all the sacrificial waste within a day. As part of the cleaning drive, we have cancelled the vacation of our cleaning staff.”
Shaibal, also a councilor of the CCC, added that the cleaning work will begin at 9am on the day of Eid and continue till 4pm.
"We have already distributed 400,000 leaflets among the city dwellers, put up 20,000 posters and hung many banners at different spots of the city—requesting the public to slaughter sacrificial animals at the designated spots," the councilor said.
The corporation has also opened a control room to ensure faster disposal of waste materials.
