The injured have been taken to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex and other nearby hospitals
Three people have been killed and 30 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Dhamrai upazila, Dhaka Friday evening.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
The incident took place around 7:30pm near Joypura bus stand area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway. Later, a team of Fire Service went to the spot upon information and rescued the injured passengers.
Witnesses and Fire Service sources said a Shurjomukhi Paribahan bus collided head-on with a Setu Paribahan bus near Joypura bus stand, leaving three people spot dead and a total of 30 other passengers from the two buses injured.
The injured have been taken to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex and other nearby hospitals. Among the injured, five of them are in critical state and have been referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, police said.
Confirming the incident, Dhamrai police station Sub-Inspector Julfiqer Haidar said the dead bodies had been brought to the station.
A case will be filed in this regard, he further said.
