The bus involved in the accident is yet to be tracked down

Three people have been killed and six others injured in a road accident in Rangpur. The collision occurred in the city’s Hajirhat Monthona area, around 7am on Sunday, when a bus ran over a three-wheeler.

Two of the deceased were identified as Saju Mia, 35, and Chandu Mia, 30, while the third victim – an adult male-– is yet to be identified. Six people were also injured in the accident. They have been taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for treatment. 

Taraganj Highway Police Sergeant Nowshad told the Dhaka Tribune: “A Thakurgaon-bound bus of Hanif Enterprise ran over a three-wheeler—killing two people on the spot and leaving seven others injured.

“Acting on information, police went to the spot and rescued the injured. One of them died while being taken to the hospital. The condition of another victim remains critical.”

Highway police Sergeant Nowshad added that the bus involved in the accident is yet to be tracked down.
