Police suspects that the woman was stabbed by her husband over a domestic dispute
A working woman has been killed at her home in Nandigram area of Bogra.
The victim, Kironi Bala, 42 was fatally stabbed on Thursday night, and later succumbed to her injuries at Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in the early hours of Friday.
Police have detained Kironi’s husband, Suresh Pramanik, in connection with the murder.
Confirming the incident, Nandigram police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nasir Uddin told the Dhaka Tribune: “The woman worked as a brick-breaker. She kept her doors open due to warm weather and load shedding on Thursday night.
“A culprit snuck into her room around 2:15am and stabbed her. Her husband, who was at home during the attack, called for help. Neighbours then took Kironi to a hospital.”
Bogra Chhilimpur Police Outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Aziz Mondol told the correspondent the victim succumbed to her injuries around 4am.
The victim’s body has been sent to the morgue. OC Nasir Uddin suspects that Kironi was stabbed by her husband Suresh over a domestic dispute. He has been taken to Nandigram police station for questioning.
No case, at the time of this article’s publication, has yet been filed in this regard.
