The bodies of Turjo Bhattacharya and Sayeed were found stuck in the riverbed sand, making the recovery process complicated
Two more children’s bodies of the five who drowned in the Matamuhuri River on Saturday, have been found.
Cox’s Bazar Fire Service Deputy Director Md Abdul Malek confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, adding that the rescue operation has formally concluded, following the retrieval of the remainder of the five bodies on Sunday.
Responding to a query, Malek said: “The bodies of Turjo Bhattacharya and Sayeed were found stuck in the riverbed sand, making the recovery process complicated. But the fire service was able to pull the bodies from the river around 1am.”

The five children, all boys from the local grammar school, went bathing in the river around 4pm after playing football on its banks. The children are: Sayeed, Aminul Hossain, Farhan, Turjo Bhattacharya and Sohrab Hossain.
Grammar school teacher Jahedul Islam said the boys went to play football after attending their final exams.
Fire service officials recovered their bodies from the depths of the river, one by one, after they went missing. A pall of gloom has befallen the area following this tragic incident.
