The maritime ports of: Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to hoist the local cautionary signal no 3, as a low has formed over the north-western bay and the adjoining area—with the likelihood of intensifying.

Under the influence of the low, a steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, according to a Met Office bulletin, reports UNB.

The maritime ports, North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas are likely to be affected by stormy weather.

All fishing boats and trawlers in North Bay have been advised to approach the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

They have also been advised not to venture into the deep sea.
