Eight killed in separate road crashes

The incidents have also left many others injured

At least eight people, including a truck driver and a schoolboy, were killed and many others injured in separate road accidents in Dhaka’s Savar and Dhamrai, Habiganj, Thakurgaon, Comilla and Satkhira on Friday.

In Savar, two motorcyclists were killed on the spot, after being hit by a bus and run over by a truck around 8:30am.

Police identified the deceased as Shafiq Ahmed, 26, and Sujat, 25, from Pabna.

In Dhamrai, a truck driver was killed, and two others injured, when he lost control of the truck, and drove his vehicle into a roadside ditch, in the morning.

Police identified the deceased as Monir Hossain, 35.

In Thakurgaon, a man died, and 12 others were injured, after a covered van collided, head on, with a night coach, around 8am.

Police identified the van-driver as Sajjad, 34. 

In Habiganj, a schoolboy was killed as a battery-run easy bike hit him at Richi village in Sadar upazila, in the morning.

Police identified the deceased as Joy, 10, the son of Akbar Miah, reports UNB.

In Satkhira, a van driver died after being run over by a truck, in the afternoon.

Police identified the deceased as Monirul islam.

In Comilla, two persons were killed and at least 17 others injured in two separate road accidents.
