Police say the Rohingyas were heading to Cox’s Bazar to visit relatives
Members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) detained 17 Rohingyas at Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria.
The detainees include five men, seven women, and five children.
Maniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kasba police station, said the BGB men detained the Rohingyas in Nayanpur Bazar on their way to Cox’s Bazar by CNG-run auto-rickshaws to meet relatives on Thursday.
Later, they were handed over to the police.
The Rohingyas will be sent back to Rohingya camps, the police said.
